March letter

I cannot really believe that it is the end of March already... Between daily life with three little boys and the process of buying a new property, these past few weeks have been full. With the cooler weather bringing the close of the dahlia season I have been appreciating the Cafe au Lait's while I can, abd bringing them in, to have a little stillness and beauty inside.

With the change of season, I have been busy in the garden sowing seeds for our winter vegetables and spring flowers. Here's what I have been getting in the soil...

  • Sweet peas

  • Larkspur

  • Strawflower

  • Ranunculus

  • Corn cockles

  • Bunny tails

  • Poppies

  • Snapdragons

  • Stock

  • Snap peas

  • Cauliflower

  • Broccoli

  • Brown onions

  • Garlic

  • Shallots

If you have been following along on Instagram you may have seen that I am trialling raising my seedlings in seed snails rather than trays. So far they are growing amazingly, and will be so much easier to move to our new home. I have also put a few garlic cloves in a snail to try. I source all my flower seeds from Veggie and Flower Garden Seeds, and most of our veggies from The Seed Collection.

Looking forward to next season's flowers, I have been putting together boards on Pinterest to visualize the colour palettes and align seeds with... While the last year has been more a trial of what I can grow, and enjoy growing, going forward I am leaning into antique shades of blush, burgundy and ivory... What do you think?

On the store front... We are scheduled to move into our new property mid next month, so I hope to unbox my burner and begin designing spoons again for you in time for Mother's Day. I will share updates on Instagram.

And in the meantime, before we shift, I have been loving wandering around Mum's garden with my camera... Here are a few snaps of late.

Well, thankyou ever so much for everything ... Follow along on Instagram to stay in touch.

Until next time ... Katie
